Annual Dinner Planning Committee Chair: Open at this time Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Plans and prepares for this showcase event which also serves as the LSCP’s largest fundraiser. Chair: Tom Baldini and Doreen Takalo Time Commitment: Once per month Description: Focuses on legislative agenda. Keeps abreast of legislation, particularly on the State level, that affects business. Electrical Line School Advisory Board Chair: Brett French Time Commitment: Bi-monthly Description: Responsible for operation of Midwest Skills Development Center programs. Typically made up of education, industry and workforce partners. Chair: Brett French Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Connects economic development to our industry partners. Currently working on a U.P. wide transmission plan for alternative energy. Finance Committee Chair: Mike Roy Time Commitment: Once per month Description: Works on LSCP budget, maintains monthly financials and sustainability planning. Golf Outing Committee Chair: Open at this time Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Plan and implement annual golf outing which serves as an LSCP fundraiser and networking event.
Comedy Zone Committee Chair: Don Ryan Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Plan and implement annual Comedy Zone which serves as an LSCP fundraiser and networking event.
Lake Superior Community Partnership Executive Committee Chair: Tom Edmark Time Commitment: Monthly - Currently No open seats Description: 30 member standing committee that handles operational activities and other duties as requested by the Board of Directors. Lake Superior Leadership Academy Committee Chair: Pam Christensen Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Plans for the Lake Superior Leadership Academy, plans reunions and graduation, recruits class members and reviews and plans programming. Lake Superior Partners in Education Chair: Steve Peffers Time Commitment: Once per month (summers off) Description: Works on business/education partnerships. Plans annual “Pathways to Your Future” career day for high school students at Northern Michigan University. Membership and Marketing Committee Chair: Tom Mogush and Anne Stark Time Commitment: Once per month Description: Creates and monitors the marketing plan for the LSCP to follow throughout the year. Plans the annual membership drive and membership activities. Personnel Committee Chair: Debra Veiht Time Commitment: Monthly - Currently NO open seats Description: Committee is made up of the current LSCP Officers and past Chairman of the Board of Directors. Strategic Planning Committee Chair: Open at this time Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Creates the LSCP strategic plan with staff and members’ input. Chair: John Marshall Time Commitment: Meets as needed Description: Critical component for economic development. Includes all forms of transportation. As a partner, you have an opportunity to be active in the organization’s mission by participating in on many committees and boards. |
